R.I.P. Teena Marie - This Christmas we lose another 'Unsung' Legendary S...
Ironically I was editing this piece when I got word that Teena Marie passed suddenly of a heart attack, and while it hurt my heart to hear it, as I turned on my copy of Portugeese Love, I realized that she will always be here through her music.
Teena Marie died today at 54 when her daughter found her dead at her home of an apparent heart attack. more details to come.
The four times grammy nominated, Mary Christine Brockert had a strong African-American influence from her godmother. Blessed with the gift of music at a young age, the Santa Monica, California native grew up in the historically African-American enclave of Oakwood in westside Los Angeles. Raised on Motown music and Singing Harry Belafonte music by age two, Ms. Marie's self-professed "Gift from God" would become fine-tuned as the years progressed.
As a child, she had an acting role on The Beverly Hillbillies, credited as Tina Marie Brockert. She also sang at the wedding of actor Jerry Lewis's son when she was 10 years old.
Marie worked briefly at Mar Vista's Pup 'n' Taco in the mid 1970s while attending Venice High School, where she joined the Summer Dance Production, and also had a role in the school's production of The Music Man.[5] In a recent television interview she noted she drove a Chevy Vega during this period.

day after christmas sales 2010
I have an unusual money making story to share with you today.
It's about how 2 of my friends (Xan and Jenn Spenser) currently make Over $422.82 a day, $2,959.75 a WEEK and $13,107.46 a MONTH while "working" for just 20 minutes a day!
Now, before you jump to conclusions, let me tell you that Xan and Jenn make this kind of money with one simple website that has nothing to do with "making money", they have no copy writing skills, no formal "internet marketing" education, no start-up capital, and because of their jobs had VERY little time... (about 20 minutes per day).

One of young Hollywood's golden couples is no more: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have split up.
"They are 100 percent still good friends," a source tells PEOPLE of the High School Musical sweethearts, who first began dating in 2005.
The couple have been a Hollywood fixture and have both spoken about feeling an instant connection when they met. "Right off the bat, we had a connection, I think everybody could see it," Hudgens, who turns 22 on Tuesday, said in the June issue of Glamour.
Efron, 23, also recently spoke of their relationship, saying the pair's love was "exactly how it should be. It's real."
Zac Efron is filming The Lucky One in New Orleans while Hudgens is working on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in Hawaii.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- As of early evening, Fort Wayne's snowfall was about two inches, but the worst of the snows will be along the Michigan-Indiana state line, and nearest to Lake Michigan. There, snowfall amounts will likely total into the double digits.
Another two inches can be expected overnight and into tomorrow i Allen County, with slightly more in Dekalb, Noble and Steuben Counties. This means widespread delays and some cancellations, so parents should watch INCToday beginning at 5 A.M. and check www.invnow.tv Monday morning for information about school delays or closings.

Jorge Mario Pedro Vargas Llosa, born March 28, 1936, is a Peruvian writer, politician, journalist, essayist, and Nobel Prize laureate, currently serving as a visiting professor at Princeton University. Vargas Llosa is one of Latin America's most significant novelists and essayists, and one of the leading authors of his generation. Some critics consider him to have had a larger international impact and worldwide audience than any other writer of the Latin American Boom. He was awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat".
He is the person who, in 1990, "coined the phrase that circled the globe", declaring on Mexican television, "Mexico is the perfect dictatorship", a statement which became an adage during the following decade.
Vargas Llosa rose to fame in the 1960s with novels such as The Time of the Hero (La ciudad y los perros, literally The City and the Dogs, 1963/1966), The Green House (La casa verde, 1965/1968), and the monumental Conversation in the Cathedral (Conversación en la catedral, 1969/1975). He writes prolifically across an array of literary genres, including literary criticism and journalism. His novels include comedies, murder mysteries, historical novels, and political thrillers. Several, such as Captain Pantoja and the Special Service (1973/1978) and Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter (1977/1982), have been adapted as feature films.
Many of Vargas Llosa's works are influenced by the writer's perception of Peruvian society and his own experiences as a native Peruvian. Increasingly, however, he has expanded his range, and tackled themes that arise from other parts of the world. Another change over the course of his career has been a shift from a style and approach associated with literary modernism, to a sometimes playful postmodernism.
Like many Latin American authors, Vargas Llosa has been politically active throughout his career; over the course of his life, he has gradually moved from the political left towards the right. While he initially supported the Cuban revolutionary government of Fidel Castro, Vargas Llosa later became disenchanted. He ran for the Peruvian presidency in 1990 with the center-right Frente Democrático (FREDEMO) coalition, advocating neoliberal reforms. He has subsequently supported moderate conservative candidates.

Bernie Madoff Son Found Dead
The youngest son of Bernie Maddoff, Mark, was found dead today in Manhattan. Police were called to his SoHo apartment after he was found hanging by his father-in-law. According to reports no suicide note was found, but he has reportedly been bitter over his father's deception. Earlier this week Mark and his older brother Andrew were sued by court-appointed trustees recovering assets for their father's victims.

When I brought home a Roboquad robot the other day and started playing with it, our resident guardian K9 was none too pleased. I decided to put Roboquad in "autonomous" mode, set his aggression level to high, and let the battle unfold.

She thought they were making her pizza wrong so she went nuts. She told them the cheese goes on before the meat, but they told her she was wrong. They offered to make it how ever she wanted it, and even offered to let her make the pizza herself. Her pizza was already coming OUT of the oven by the time she flips out.
